Birth is one of life's most profound rites of passage.
It has the power to shape not only how we meet our babies, but how we meet ourselves.
As your birth doula…
My role is to walk beside you with unwavering presence, evidence-based knowledge, and deep trust in your innate ability to birth. I believe every woman deserves to feel safe, heard, informed and deeply supported throughout pregnancy, birth and the sacred postpartum journey.
I primarily work with those planning a home birth or birth centre birth.
However no matter the outcome of your birth, I offer continuous emotional, physical and educational support, helping you feel calm, connected and confident as you prepare to welcome your baby.
Together we create a space where you can make informed choices, honour your intuition, and approach birth feeling empowered rather than fearful.
Every birth is unique.
My intention is never to control your experience, but to help you feel deeply supported within it whatever path your birth takes.

A birth doula is someone who walks alongside you through pregnancy, birth and the early days of motherhood, offering emotional, physical and practical support along the way.
Unlike your midwife or medical team, a doula doesn't provide clinical care or make decisions for you.
I'm there for you.
I get to know you, what matters to you, what you're hoping for, what you're worried about and what helps you feel safe.
During pregnancy, we prepare together. We can explore your birth preferences, your fears, your nervous system, breath, comfort measures, decision-making and how your partner can feel confident and involved.
When labour begins, I provide continuous support through the experience, helping you find positions that feel good, using breath and movement, offering reassurance, creating a calm environment and helping you stay connected to yourself as things unfold.
And when your baby arrives, my support doesn't simply stop.
The early days of motherhood can be tender, overwhelming and completely transformative. I'm there to help you process your experience, settle into this new chapter and remind you that you matter too.
A DOULA DOESN'T TELL YOU HOW TO BIRTH.
I won't tell you what choices to make or what your birth should look like.
My role is to help you feel informed, empowered and supported enough to make choices that feel right for you.
Because birth isn't about doing it perfectly.
It's about knowing you were supported, heard and cared for along the way.
You don't have to navigate birth alone.
-
You're excited.
You're nervous.
You're somewhere in between.
Maybe you've never given birth before and don't know what to expect.
Maybe you've given birth before and know exactly what you don't want to repeat.
Maybe you want your partner to feel more confident too.
Or maybe you're simply looking for someone who will sit beside you and say:
"I've got you. Let's take this one step at a time."

We'll get to know you, your hopes, your fears and your preferences.
We'll explore birth preparation, nervous system support, comfort measures, communication, decision-making and how your partner can be involved.
This isn't about creating the perfect birth plan.
It's about helping you feel prepared for your birth.
BIRTH SUPPORT
When labour begins, I'll be there to support you physically, emotionally and practically.

Breath and relaxation techniques

Birth Doula Christchurch
“We used Libby as our Doula for the birth of our daughter in November 2023.
As the birthing mother, I found Libby's approach to be intuitive, engaging and very authentic.
I loved how, during the preparation, we discussed my needs in detail, and all the different ways that Libby could offer herself to meet those various needs. She deeply supported the birth we were working towards experiencing, and helped create our wishes alongside us.
During the birth, Libby was like a pillar inside the birth team. She naturally could intuit when to be in the space with me and when to be off to the side - for example, when I was with my birth partner or midwife.
I would highly recommend Libby as a Doula at anyone's birth.
Her warm, yet strong presence was a gift inside our birth experience. ”
— Former ClientBirth is more than the arrival of a baby.
It is the birth of a mother, too.
Every mother deserves to be held as she transforms.
