Preparing for birth, from the inside out.
Birth preparation isn't just about knowing what happens in labour.
It's about preparing your mind, your body and your nervous system for one of the biggest transitions of your life.
Maybe you're excited to meet your baby, but there's also fear underneath it. Maybe you've had a previous birth that didn't go how you hoped. Maybe you're carrying stories you've heard from other women. Maybe you know you want a different experience this time, but you're not quite sure how to get there.Or maybe you simply want to feel more connected to yourself and more trusting of your body before birth.
This is where we begin.
YOUR BIRTH PREPARATION IS PERSONAL
There isn't one formula for preparing for birth.
Your preparation might involve learning about your nervous system and how it responds to stress.
It might involve breathwork and practices to help you come back into your body.
It might involve unpacking a previous birth experience.
It might mean working with fear, anxiety or limiting beliefs.
It might be about rebuilding trust in your body after feeling disconnected from it.
Or it might simply be having somewhere to slow down and honestly ask:
"How do I want to feel as I enter this experience?"
Together, we create the space to explore what you need.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE FEARLESS TO FEEL PREPARED.
Fear around birth is incredibly common.
And I don't believe the answer is to simply "think positively" or tell yourself not to be afraid.
Instead, we get curious about what's underneath the fear.
What are you afraid of?
Where does that fear live in your body?
What stories are you carrying about birth?
What happened in your previous experience?
What would it feel like to create more safety within yourself?
This is where coaching, breathwork and somatic practices can become powerful tools for birth preparation.
WHAT WE CAN WORK WITH
YOUR MIND
Explore the beliefs, expectations and stories you hold around birth.
We can look at what you've been told birth will be like, what you believe your body is capable of and what thoughts tend to take over when uncertainty arises.
YOUR BODY
Reconnect with the body that is preparing to birth your baby.
Through somatic awareness, breathwork and embodiment practices, we can begin to build a stronger relationship with your body and its signals.
Less thinking about your body.
More feeling into it.
YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
Your nervous system plays an important role in how you experience stress, uncertainty and safety.
We'll explore simple practices that help you notice what's happening inside you and create more capacity to pause, breathe and respond.
Not to guarantee a particular birth.
But to give you tools you can draw on when things become intense or unexpected.
BREATHWORK
Your breath is something you carry with you everywhere.
We can use breathwork as a way to support connection, grounding, regulation and presence.
You'll develop practices that you can use during pregnancy, labour and beyond.
FEAR
Rather than pushing fear away, we make space for it.
Because sometimes the thing you're most afraid of is asking to be heard.
We'll gently explore what sits underneath the fear and work towards creating a greater sense of safety, trust and choice.
PREVIOUS BIRTH EXPERIENCES
If you've experienced a difficult, unexpected or traumatic birth before, preparing for another birth can bring a lot to the surface.
You don't need to simply "move on."
We can create space to tell your story, acknowledge what happened, explore how it may still be living in your body and begin to rebuild trust and safety.
Your next birth doesn't have to erase your last one.
But you deserve support as you move towards it.

THIS WORK ISN'T ABOUT CONTROLLING YOUR BIRTH
You can prepare beautifully and still have a birth that unfolds differently than you imagined.
Birth is unpredictable.
The intention isn't to promise you a certain outcome.
It's to help you feel more resourced to meet the experience.
To know yourself.
To understand your options.
To recognise what's happening in your body.
To have tools to come back to yourself.
And to feel supported when things don't go exactly to plan.
That's empowerment.

WHAT OUR WORK TOGETHER MIGHT LOOK LIKE:
Every session is shaped around you.
We might talk. We might breathe. We might move.
We might sit quietly and notice what's happening in your body.
We might work through a fear that's been sitting beneath the surface.
We might explore a previous birth. We might practise tools for labour.
Or we might simply create space for you to hear yourself.
There is no script.
We follow what is most present for you.
